Applicants are advised to submit 2-3 courses on their application for credit form for faculty assessment听credit in case of course cancellation.听
Credit equivalent
6 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. A maximum of 4听UQ Units if 12 ECTS听are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience criteria and the .
Some courses may impact on UQ semester 2 dates. UQ students must meet the additional听special conditions听for programs that impact on teaching dates.听
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline. 听

UQ Students may choose to participate in one course per each two-week or three-week course offering from the courses listed below, or if you wish to earn 4 UQ units of credit, refer to the combined course dates listed below:

- Combination 2: Two-week course (22 June - 03 July 2026) + three-week course (06 July - 24 July 2026)

Costs and funding
The program fee varies depending on the number of courses you choose to do. Program fees are approximately $2,500 AUD. More information regarding program fees can be found on the听. UQ students may be eligible for a program discount.听
Applicants may also be eligible for听UQ-specific funding.听Applicants will be notified by mid-May if they are eligible for travel grants and scholarships awarded by the Global Experiences team. Please do not rely on this funding to support your global experience.

When you submit your application for an听experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the鈥�Short-Term Experiences Funding鈥� page for details.听
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an听听if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.
Daisy - 2019
Prior to leaving, I already considered myself quite independent but whilst traveling and studying abroad solo I realized the full extent of this, which was quite challenging at first. Learning to work with students from all over the world was also extremely valuable, even more so than the course content itself! The time was also a reminder to not take life too seriously - there really is so much to see and do in life. I will carry these with me through my personal, academic and professional life.

Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can鈥檛 be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months听before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than听3 months听before the official end date of your overseas study.
